HOW DO I UPDATE MY PHONE SYSTEM'S CLOCK TO ADJUST FOR DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME?
 

Twice a year your phone system's clock may need to be adjusted to compensate for daylight savings time. Below are quick and easy instructions to help guide you through this procedure. Start by selecting which system you have.

Samsung Phone Questions - General

HOW DO I SET THE TIME ON MY SAMSUNG PHONE SYSTEM?
Twice a year your phone system's clock may need to be adjusted to compensate for daylight savings time. Below are quick and easy instructions to help guide you through this procedure. Start by selecting which system you have.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY SVMI VOICE MAIL BOX FROM OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE?
Dial your main number. If the voice mail immediately answers, press # followed by your extension / mailbox number. Enter your passcode and proceed as
normal. If someone answers your call, ask them to press the VM Trsf key and hang up on You. At the greeting press # followed by your extension / mailbox
number. Enter your passcode and proceed as normal.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY CADENCE VOICE MAIL BOX FROM OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE?
Dial your main number. If the voice mail immediately answers, press * followed by your extension / mailbox number. Enter your passcode and proceed as
normal. If someone answers your call, ask them to press the VM Trsf key and hang up on You. At the greeting press * followed by your extension / mailbox
number. Enter your passcode and proceed as normal.

HOW DO I SET MY SVMI VOICE MAIL SYSTEM FOR HOLIDAY MODE?
Dial your main number. At the voice mail greeting, press #0000 (will be #000 on older voice mails), enter passcode 0000. Press 1 to edit system
prompts; and enter prompt number 1003. Press 3 to discard and re-record, record your greeting and press # to save it. Press * once to return to the Administration
menu. Press 3 to edit system mode, press 0 for all ports (not required on smaller / older voice mails) and 3 for holiday mode. Press *** and hang up. Note: if
someone answers when you call in, ask them to press VM Trsf and hang up. You can then proceed with the instructions as they are listed.

HOW DO I SET MY SVMI VOICE MAIL SYSTEM FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER MODE?
Dial your main number. At the voice mail greeting, press #0000 (will be #000 on older voice mails), enter passcode 0000. Press 1 to edit system prompts; and enter prompt number 1004. Press 3 to discard and re-record, record your greeting and press # to save it. Press * once to return to the Administration
menu. Press 3 to edit system mode, press 0 for all ports (not required on smaller / older voice mails) and 4 for weather mode. Press *** and hang up. Note: if someone answers when you call in, ask them to press VM Trsf and hang up. You can then proceed with the instructions as they are listed.

HOW DO I SET MY SVMI VOICE MAIL SYSTEM BACK TO THE DEFAULT GREETINGS AFTER A HOLIDAY OR INCLEMENT WEATHER SITUATION?
Dial your main number. At the voice mail greeting, press #0000 (will be #000 on older voice mails), enter passcode 0000. Press 3 to edit system mode, press 0 for all ports (not required on smaller /older voice mails) and 0 for auto mode. Press *** and hang up. Note: if someone answers when you call in, ask them to press VM Trsf and hang up. You can then proceed with the instructions as they are listed.

WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE NOT LISTED IN THE DIAL-BY-NAME DIRECTORY OF MY SVMI VOICE MAIL SYSTEM?
If you have a new user, or if someone has relocated to a different extension, be sure that person has set his/her mailbox up on all areas. For the newer SVMI product the user must do the following: upon accessing voice mail box, press 5,1,2,3 and record voice mail greeting; press #,1. Press #,7,2 and record name only, press #.

Press #,7,3 and follow the system prompts to enter in a directory name. On the older SVMI product, upon accessing voice mail box press 5 and record voice mail greeting, press # to save. Press #2 and record name only, press # to save. Press #3 and follow system prompts to enter directory name. Note: if you directory is not in the dial-by-name format, your directory mailbox or prompt will need to be re-recorded. Please contact our office at 1-800-345-6580 with questions. Thank you.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE NAME ON THE DISPLAY OF MY SAMSUNG PHONE?
With the handset down in the cradle, press transfer 104. Press hold to erase the old name. Use the number keypad on your phone to enter the new name. Press transfer to store your change.

MY VOICE MAIL BOX IS NOT PICKING UP ON MY SAMSUNG VOICE MAIL SYSTEM. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
Most likely, you have accidentally cleared the call forwarding programming from your telephone. With the handset down in the cradle, press 600 followed by 604. This will reset your call forwarding. If you experience further problems, please call our office at 1-800-345-6580. Thank you.



Samsung Phone Questions - IP

WHAT IF MY IP PHONE HAS ONE-WAY AUDIO?
This could be several different issues all pertaining to your firewall. If this problem arises, check the firewall configuration and compatibility.

DOES THE SAMSUNG IP PHONE USE A VPN?
The Samsung IP phone will work with or without a vpn. It does not require one but can work with one if so desired.

WHAT POWER OVER ETHERNET (PoE) STANDARD IS SUPPORTED ON SAMSUNG IP PHONES?
Samsung uses the IEEE 802.3af Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Standard.

MY SAMSUNG IP PHONE IS SHOWING A VALIDATION ERROR. WHAT NOW?
This error means that the phone is connected to the switch but is not authorized to operate on the switch, typically this is caused by an invalid or incorrect user id or password.

MY REMOTE SAMSUNG IP PHONE STAYS IN BINDING NETWORK.
If your phone has been set to DHCP mode, it is either not receiving an IP address via a DHCP server or the DHCP server is full or on another network segment.

WHY IS THE TIME ON MY REMOTE SAMSUNG IP PHONE DIFFERENT THAN MY LOCAL TIME?
There is a good possibility that your IP phone is located in a different time zone than the Samsung system to which it is connected.

HOW WILL 911 WORK WITH A REMOTE IP PHONE?
Your Samsung IP Phone will utilize the 911 resources of the telephone system that it is connected to. Any IP phone users not located at the same physical address as the telephone system should be aware of this limitation and have access to a local line for emergency use. HOW MUCH BANDWIDTH DO I NEED PER IP CALL?
As a general rule approximately 40k per callfor the G.729a codec. Please note that this is only an estimate and should only be used as a general guideline.

WHAT PORTS DO I NEED TO OPEN IN MY FIREWALL FOR MY SAMSUNG IP PHONE IF IT IS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE SWITCH SIDE?
1024-4999, 30000-30030, 6000 for TX and RX UDP Traffic.

WHAT PORTS DO I NEED TO OPEN IN MY FIREWALL FOR MY SAMSUNG IP PHONE IF IT IS TO BE INSTALLED IN A REMOTE LOCATION?
6000, 9000 and 9001 for UDP traffic both TX and RX.

DOES WYNNCOM OFFER INEXPENSIVE WEBSITES?
Yes, we offer two types of sites - Custom and Template based.

The Custom site is our traditional site and we program to fit the customer's needs (visually and functionally). These sites are a bit more expensive than template and can also have Content Management options built in to allow the customer to update their own site without the hassle of knowing how to "code / program".

  • custom one of a kind design for your site
  • take longer to produce and are more expensive, but are worth it for the one of a kind look if the customer wants a defined look
  • can pattern the design after current company brochures and ads to give one unified corporate image

The Template-based site is a new offering from Wynncom at a large price drop over a custom site. The user picks out a template design and we can customize it with the client's content. Content management areas can be built into a template site just like a custom site to give the client control over their pages as needed. This is a quick way to get a site up and going, however, the sites are templates and for sale to the general public. But they do look quite professional.

  • less expensive, but can be purchased by competitors for same purposes as they are for sale to general public
  • quicker to produce and launch
  • most have some professional (slick!) animations built in to give a high end look to the site

WHAT KIND OF WEBSITE DO I NEED?
Our web team can help you make those decisions. We ask specific questions about your business, what you hope to achieve, the audience you're trying to reach, etc.

 

DO I NEED A DOMAIN NAME FIRST?
Yes, we can assist you in purchasing, make recommendations on URLs and handle the details for you. If you have already purchased your domain - we can work with that registrar to use the existing URL.

 

I ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE, BUT NEED SOME UPDATES?
The web team at Wynncom handles day to day changes for customers in addition to building new websites from scratch.

 

HOW CAN I TELL WHEN MY DOMAIN NAME EXPIRES?
There are many online lookup tools that will give that information. The basic URL registration info is public record.

 

WHAT IS AN SSL CERTIFICATE AND DO I NEED ONE?

HOW DO I SETUP MY EMAIL AND MAIL SERVER SETTINGS?

You have two options for using your new email accounts:

WEBMAIL:
Go to http://webmail.yourdomain.com
login: ******* (the first part of your email address before the @ symbol)
password: ******

**and use the options, set spam filtering, use autoresponders, etc.
This is a great way to check email from home or while traveling – you can check it anywhere there is internet access.

MAIL APPLICATION:
Use the following settings in your Mail application (i.e. Outlook Express)

Account Name – you can use your own description
Email POP address – user@yourdomain.com
Password – **************

Incoming Mail POP server – pop.everyone.net
Outgoing Mail Server – you can use your current ISP settings

OR if your application supports it:
Smtp.everyone.net
Check the “SMTP server requires authentication”
Log on using same user/pass as email

You can setup a vacation or auto-response message for your email account by logging into webmail - please login to webmail (http://webmail.yourdomain.com) and click on options. You may setup the auto response message details here.
